Tottenham Hotspur have officially announced the permanent transfer of academy graduate Yago Santiago to Spanish second-division side Elche.
The club’s official academy account on social media confirmed the transfer, putting out the following statement:

The 21-year-old winger, who has climbed through the ranks at Spurs, will continue his career in Spain. The transfer fee remains undisclosed.
Yago Santiago began his football journey in Vigo, Spain. After several years at the Areola academy, he moved to CELTA de Vigo, where he impressed by scoring 15 goals for their M16 side during the 2018-19 season. His notable performance caught Tottenham’s attention, leading to his move to the club in the summer of 2019.
During his time at the Lily Whites, Santiago advanced through the youth teams and made a significant impact. He scored four goals and provided five assists in 33 appearances for the Spurs’ U 18 side, and added 18 goals and 12 assists in 80 appearances for the U2 10 side.
The left-winger’s contributions were particularly evident last season, where he scored nine goals and provided eight assists in 23 appearances, playing a pivotal role in Tottenham’s Premier League 2 triumph.
His consistent performances earned him a call-up to first-team training under former manager Antonio Conte during the 2022-23 season. Santiago also featured among the substitutes in five competitive first-team matches during his time at Spurs.
Santiago has now returned to Spain, signing a permanent deal with Elche, a team that was relegated from La Liga two seasons ago.
