Jamael Lett to defensive coaching staff
As of February 14, 2025, there is no publicly available information indicating that the Green Bay Packers have added Jamael Lett to their defensive coaching staff. Lett is currently serving as a defensive coaching assistant/quality control coach for the New England Patriots, a position he has held since February 2024.
In the 2024 season, the Packers’ defense, under the guidance of defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, showed significant improvement in various areas. However, the pass rush remained inconsistent, leading to the dismissal of defensive line coach Jason Rebrovich in January 2025.
To address this issue, the Packers have been actively seeking a new defensive line coach. Reports indicate that they plan to hire DeMarcus Covington, who has been with the New England Patriots since 2017, serving in various roles including defensive line coach and, most recently, defensive coordinator under head coach Jerod Mayo in 2024.
Given that both Jamael Lett and DeMarcus Covington are currently employed by the New England Patriots, and considering the Packers’ recent coaching staff decisions, there is no current evidence to suggest that Jamael Lett will be joining the Packers’ defensive coaching staff.
