The 37th Annual Phagwah Parade in Richmond Hill, Queens, affectionately known as “Little Guyana,” unfolded with vibrant energy and a kaleidoscope of colors. Thousands gathered along Liberty Avenue, immersing themselves in the jubilant atmosphere of this cherished Hindu festival, also known as Holi.

A Tapestry of Colors and Unity

As the parade commenced, participants joyfully smeared each other with multicolored powders, symbolizing the victory of good over evil and the arrival of spring. The air was filled with laughter and traditional music, fostering a sense of unity among attendees from diverse backgrounds. Floats adorned with intricate designs paraded down Liberty Avenue, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of the Indo-Caribbean community.
