BATON ROUGE, La. – The LSU Tigers women’s basketball program is commemorating its 50th season with a series of significant developments that underscore its storied past and promising future.
Honoring a Legacy: 50 Seasons of Excellence
- To celebrate five decades since the program’s inception in 1975, LSU has launched the “50 Seasons of LSU Women’s Basketball Celebration Campaign.” In partnership with Bayou Traditions and the Tiger Athletic Foundation, the campaign offers fans commemorative items, including exclusive prints by New Orleans artist Becky Fos. These prints pay tribute to program legends such as Seimone Augustus, Sylvia Fowles, and Angel Reese, encapsulating the rich history of LSU women’s basketball.
Angel Reese Returns to Baton Rouge
Highlighting the anniversary celebrations, former LSU star Angel Reese is set to return to the Pete Maravich Assembly Center (PMAC) on May 2. Reese, now with the WNBA’s Chicago Sky, will participate in a preseason game against the Brazilian national team. This marks her first game back in Baton Rouge since leading the Tigers to their first NCAA Championship in 2023. Reese expressed her excitement about playing in front of LSU fans again, acknowledging the university’s role in preparing her for professional basketball.
Building for the Future: Top Recruiting Class
Under head coach Kim Mulkey, LSU has secured a top-ranked 2025 recruiting class, featuring four top-30 national prospects. The class includes five-star guard Divine Bourrage, who chose LSU over programs like South Carolina and Arizona. Bourrage is known for her scoring ability and versatile
