Another cornerback set commitment…
Chauncey Kennon, an elite 2026 cornerback, has set his commitment date.
Chauncey Kennon, a four-star cornerback from Sarasota (Fla.) Booker, is set to commit to college this summer.
On Tuesday, he told On3’s Hayes Fawcett that he will make his pick on July 6, between Florida, Georgia, Miami, LSU, Florida State, and Oregon. He currently has official visits set with all teams save the Ducks before making his selection. The in-state Gators hosted him earlier this month, and Miami (May 30), Georgia (June 6), Florida State (June 13), and LSU (June 20) will all have an opportunity to make their moves before his announcement.
Kennon is the 46th best prospect in the 2026 class, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, which is a weighted average of the four major recruiting media organisations. He is also ranked as the No. 5 cornerback in the nation and the No. 5 recruit in Florida.

Florida football’s championship window is opening in 2025
I knew it wouldn’t be, but the blowback was harsher than I anticipated. The overall point of the post was that, while I knew no one wanted to hear it, the 2024 season appeared to be laying the groundwork for a significant surge year in 2025. If nothing else, it was completely true that no one wanted to hear that after the 5-7 campaign in 2023. However, I am willing to announce not only that I was correct, but that Florida will have a championship window open in 2025.
To be clear: that does not mean I’m predicting that the Gators definitely will win a national title this season. It’s still plenty possible that things go poorly and UF is going through a coaching search rather than a playoff run at the end of the ’25 regular season…
