The pitching matchup has been set for the Conway Regional opener. According to Florida’s game notes, Kevin O’Sullivan will start Liam Peterson at the top of the rotation in Game 1. Ethan Norby (7-5, 3.81 ERA) will face off for ECU.
Peterson, a 6’5 right-hander, is in his second season with the Gators. He took up the Friday night starter role in 2025, going 8-3 with an ERA of 4.10. Opponents have a.239 batting average against Peterson, who has allowed 62 hits, 32 walks, and 95 strikeouts in 68 innings (WHIP 1.38, K-BB 95-32). Last time out, Peterson lasted 4 innings in the SEC Tournament versus Ole Miss, allowing 3 runs (1 earned) on 5 hits and 1 walk while striking out 6.

He pitched 3.2 more innings in three appearances against Clemson (Super Regional) and Texas A&M (College World Series). King, a 6-2 right-hander, earned four SEC weekly honours during his remarkable freshman season.
He reduced his ERA to 2.76 after going 6.1 innings in the regular-season finale versus Alabama, surrendering 3 runs (1 earned) on 6 hits while striking out 8. Over 65.1 innings, opponents are batting. 220 versus King, with 72 strikeouts, 54 hits, and 21 walks (1.15 WHIP, 72-21 K-BB). The Conway Regional, hosted by No. 13 overall seed Coastal Carolina, will begin at 12:00 ET on Friday with a game between Florida and ECU.
