Cobb had this to say about Pope’s performance in the portal: “Kentucky went shopping in the luxury aisle and came away with some high-end portal additions to reinforce a roster that is losing five double-figure scorers to the expiration of eligibility.” Five of the additions are among the top 60 transfers, led by No. 12 Jayden Quaintance. Quaintance, who excelled as a shot-blocking freshman at Arizona State last season, will team up with former Alabama forward Mo Dioubate to form a formidable frontcourt for the Wildcats. Jaland Lowe (Pitt) will lead the way at point guard after averaging 5.5 assists for the Panthers, while Denzel Aberdeen (Florida) and Kam Williams (Tulane) will provide perimeter support.Year one under coach Mark Pope demonstrated proof of concept, and the Wildcats are now positioned to continue building following a successful offseason.”
At least three Wildcats starters this season will be guys brought in through the transfer portal, thus Coach Pope’s exceptional work in the transfer portal will pay off. The Wildcats have an exceptional roster thanks to the transfer site, which has Pope’s club ranked among the top ten teams in the country this offseason.
