LSU QB Colin Hurley Found Unresponsive After Car Crash Early Thursday | Tiger Rag

ANALYSIS:

LSU freshman quarterback Colin Hurley, 17, was hospitalized early Thursday morning following a car accident near the university’s campus. Around 2:45 a.m., Hurley’s Dodge Charger collided with a tree at the intersection of South Quad Drive and Highland Road, close to LSU’s South Gates. First responders from the Baton Rouge Fire Department and EMS found Hurley unresponsive but breathing. He was extracted from the vehicle and transported to a local hospital. Despite a significant facial laceration, no major injuries were reported, and he is expected to make a full recovery.

Hurley’s family expressed gratitude to the first responders and medical staff, stating, “Colin is resting and is stable while more tests and care are being administered. We are confident that Colin will make a full recovery from this terrible accident.” LSU Athletics echoed this sentiment, thanking the community for their support.

Authorities have not released the cause of the crash but indicated that impairment is not suspected. Due to Hurley’s status as a minor, LSU officials are coordinating with his family before providing further comments.

Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Hurley reclassified to join LSU’s 2024 recruiting class at age 16. He did not participate in any games during the 2024 season as a true freshman.
