Evaluation:
On January 30, 2025, the Boston College Eagles women’s basketball team faced a formidable challenge against the No. 25 Florida State Seminoles at Silvio O. Conte Forum in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. Despite a valiant effort, the Eagles fell to the Seminoles with a final score of 104-80.

The game commenced with Florida State establishing an early lead, ending the first quarter ahead 24-17. The Seminoles continued their offensive momentum into the second quarter, outscoring the Eagles 27-22, which resulted in a halftime score of 51-39 in favor of Florida State. Both teams matched each other’s scoring in the third quarter, each adding 22 points. However, the Seminoles dominated the final quarter, scoring 31 points to the Eagles’ 19, thereby securing their victory.
Boston College’s forward, Teya Sidberry, delivered an impressive performance, leading all scorers with 28 points on 10-of-19 shooting and securing 10 rebounds, achieving a double-double. Guard T’yana Todd contributed 14 points and grabbed four rebounds.

For the Seminoles, guard Ta’Niya Latson led the team with 21 points, shooting 8-of-19 from the field, and collected eight rebounds. Forward Makayla Timpson was highly efficient, scoring 21 points on 9-of-10 shooting and pulling down 11 rebounds, also achieving a double-double.
Statistically, Florida State showcased their offensive prowess, particularly in the final quarter, where they outscored Boston College by 12 points. The Seminoles’ ability to maintain a high shooting percentage and control the boards contributed significantly to their victory.
This loss brings Boston College’s season record to 12-11 overall and 3-7 in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) play. The Eagles will look to rebound as they prepare to host Clemson on February 2, 2025.
Conversely, Florida State’s win improves their record to 17-4 overall and 7-2 in ACC play, reinforcing their position as a strong contender within the conference.
