Stoke City’s latest Championship campaign is well under way after the sacking of manager Alex Neil and the appointment of Plymouth Argyle manager Stephen Schumacher, but many of the players in their ranks are playing their final seasons at the club.
There is a possibility of playing.
Last season, the club finished 16th in the Championship and, having been relegated from the Premier League in 2018/19, they will finish 6th in the Second Division in 2023/24.
Last year was another terribly disappointing season for Neil’s team.
Since returning to the Championship, we have never finished in the top half of the league.
This season did not get off to a great start, with the Potters fighting hard to avoid relegation at the time of Schumacher’s appointment, leading to his sacking.
They have been working hard to rebuild and move forward this season, hoping that new players like Wouter Berger, Ryan Maiy, and Andre Vidigal will lead to an even better season than last season.
However, the situation is made even more difficult as Stoke sold and released a number of their key players last season, which may have had a bigger impact on the team than originally thought.

The club will lose more players next year.
The rules state that players must be at least 23 years old.
If not, the releasing club is entitled to compensation for the player under 22 years of age.
Players like Dimarzio Wright-Phillips and Blondie Na Noukeu are therefore not eligible to play here as they have not reached the minimum age for non-contracted players.
With the January contract period opening soon, a look at who is due to expire in 2024 and who Stoke could lose in January if they sign a pre-contract agreement Let’s look at.

However, he made a big impression during his four-year stay at Villa Park, where he did not get any playing opportunities.
The Brazilian initially made a good start at Stoke but has since struggled in front of goal and will have to make a decision about his future soon.Premier League 2014-15 preview: Stoke City - NBC Sports

However, the striker’s contract expires this summer with no option for a 12-month extension.
He turns 24 this month and it remains to be seen whether he will remain with the Potters beyond this summer.

But if they don’t reach a contract agreement by then, they risk losing him for nothing in the summer.
Schumacher will want to assess Thompson in the coming weeks.
