The former Everton star has signed a new contract with one of the Toffees’ relegation rivals.
Everton currently sit just one point above the drop zone, although Luton Town below them also have a game in hand.

The winger, who spent two years at Everton, looked set to join Burnley ahead of this season, but he was left ‘in tears’ when the promoted side withdrew their contract offer.

After making 10 league appearances, Luton handed Townsend a new ‘long-term contract’, the exact length of which is still unknown.
