Brentford, Fulham and Middlesbrough have all missed out on signing American striker Brandon Vazquez, according to HITC Football.
Vazquez, 25, has been active in MLS since joining Atlanta United in 2017, before joining FC Cincinnati in 2020.
The 6ft 2in striker impressed immensely, scoring 28 goals in two seasons in MLS.
He was thought to be heading to Europe.
He will now find new success outside the United States, but not in the Premier League.

Vázquez goes to Mexico – CF Monterrey agree a deal worth around £7m.
It seems so because Vasquez’s family is from here.
Vazquez also has Mexican nationality, having started his career with Club Tijuana, which made his signing even easier.
CF Monterrey will be acquiring a true goalscorer at the peak of his career.
No wonder so many people in Europe were interested.
Brandon Vazquez – Wanted In addition to interest from England, HITC Football speculates that German teams Union Berlin, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Hoffenheim have also shown significant interest.
Union Berlin are desperately looking for a goalscorer.
Their fall from glory this season has been nothing short of devastating.
Last year they were Bundesliga favorites and secured Champions League qualification, but now they are relegation candidates.
Mönchengladbach and Hoffenheim sit in his 12th and his 7th, so they could have used a little more firepower at the top to compete for the rest of the season.
Unfortunately, Vasquez won’t find a man.
He is on his way to Aztec land.
