ESPN analyst and former NBA player Kendrick Perkins once again calls out former Oklahoma City Thunder teammate James Harden.
When asked if the Clippers’ big three of Kawhi Leonard, Harden and Paul George is the best in the league, Perkins countered by alluding to Harden’s postseason flaws.
In the 2012 Finals against the Miami Heat, Harden averaged 12.
4 points on 37.
5 percent shooting.
“I’m sitting here talking about how James Harden is hard to find for haters,” Perkins said on NBA Today’s Thursday corner.
“I’m not hating, I’m just stating the fact, and the fact of the matter is that you had a difficult time when you first came to Los Angeles.
Everyone is playing well now, but in the end no one cares.
We want to see what you do in the postseason.
You forgot I was your teammate when we made it to the NBA Finals, and we couldn’t find you when we lost to the Miami Heat .
That’s why we want it to happen.
” Miami Heat’s Twitter reaction to Wednesday’s win over the Los Angeles Lakers Read more Harden and Perkins were teammates in that Finals series, but in five games Miami was defeated.
The Thunder are still a young team and will be facing a Heat team that features LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, and Chris Bosh.
But Perkins doesn’t think that’s the only example of Harden underperforming in the playoffs.
“We watched you give up on Doc Rivers and the Philadelphia 76ers when you should have beaten the Boston Celtics,” Perkins said.
“When Chris Paul was in Houston and out, we were watching and we couldn’t finish the series.
Because at the end of the day, we’ve been watching what you do.
, we don’t look at what you do in the regular season.
” “I did it last season with Joel Embiid.
We look at what you do when it matters most.
” But it’s the postseason.
” But he wants to know if Harden can make the playoffs this year.
