Derby Brackett-Taylor was highly rated at Villa Park through his time at Aston Villa, before moving to Tranmere in 2019 and then Charlton in the summer of 2021.
He played in just two games for the Midland Giants before leaving on a free transfer.
The striker is now ready to complete a move to Derby, where a return to the Championship is at stake.
He joined Charlton in 2021 and has scored 20 goals and provided 14 assists in 97 games, most of which came in League One.
Brackett-Taylor also played for Tranmere and Walsall in the Third Division.
The 26-year-old has only played on the left wing so far this season, but he also has plenty of experience on the opposition wing.
His Derby side, managed by Paul Warne, place him third in League One, just one point behind first-placed Portsmouth.
