Guler swapped Galatasaray for the Spanish giants last summer after exploding onto the scene in the Turkish Super Lig, and 18-year-old Semih Kilicsoy is certainly making a fist of emulating his impact down the road in Istanbul.

The teenage forward has five goals in just eight Super Lig games this season, his scintillating performances catching the eye of West Ham United (Turkish Football).

Midland neighbours Aston Villa and Wolverhampton Wanderers have also been credited with an interest, despite claims that Besiktas want around £22 million for a player who only made his league debut 11 months ago.

And Arda Turan, the former Turkey, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona ace who’s Eyupspor side came up against Besiktas in the cup this week, sees no reason why Kilicsoy cannot follow in the footsteps of a Real Madrid wonderkid.

“I feel proud as I watch Semih Kilicsoy,” Turan tells TRT Spor, Besiktas winning 4-0 on the night.

“I feel proud when I watch Semih Kilicsoy. He, too, will reach very good places like Arda Guler. He will first make a great contribution to Besiktas and then become a world star.”

A dynamic and instinctive finisher who idolises Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero, Kilicsoy has already been likened to one of the greatest goalscorers in football history (Sporx).

Besiktas want £22 million
“He is a very dynamic, talented striker who can use both feet very well. Stylistically, he resembles the legendary striker Gerd Müller from our time,” former Turkey international Mehmet Eksi tells Fanatik.

“We see him as the future of Besiktas. I am very hopeful about Semih.”

Aston Villa are reportedly keen on another young forward in Middlesbrough’s Morgan Rogers. HITC Football understands Unai Emery’s side have also had an £8 million accepted by Red Star Belgrade for Serbian right-back Kosta Nedeljkovic.
