Derby County have produced some excellent young players through their academy over the years, including Eilan Cashin, Max Bird and Louis Sibley, who are currently active in the Championship.
Other names include Jason Knight, Morgan Whittaker, and Max Lowe, so it’s no wonder the Rams continue to look after young players.
One academy product set to get a chance at senior football is Dajoan Brown, who is close to a loan move to Gateshead United, according to Derbyshire Live.
The National League side are close to agreeing a contract with the attacker, with Gateshead just one point clear of the top seven.
Brown has steadily risen through the ranks at Derby County and was in the spotlight last season, scoring nine goals in nine appearances for the Under-21s.
He made his senior debut in the Carabao Cup against Blackpool in August, and his League One debut two months later in a 4–0 win against Northampton Town.
His derby was his second appearance of the season against Leyton Orient last month, and he has started on the bench in the last two games.

Paul Warne already admitted earlier this month that he and Tony Weston were intrigued.
He said: “I think the loan is good for both of them.
” “Some clubs will take them on loan and prepare them to go through the league and play for other clubs.
I know that it is common to have “guidance to return to oneness.
” “It doesn’t matter.
We got a call about Dajone, but sometimes you get lazy calls about him just because he scores for the U21s and he’s 18 years old.
You Talk to someone and ask, “Have you seen them play?
” And they’ll say no, I just heard he’s fine.
I won’t let him go to someone who isn’t willing to take care of him.
“Dadji has some good options outside the league, so I think he’ll go.
