Wolves have been in pursuit of attacking reinforcements this month and, according to The Telegraph, they’re now moving for Corinthians striker Yuri Alberto.

The report claims that Alberto has emerged as a ‘serious target’ for Molineux manager Gary O’Neil, and talks are taking place over a potential loan until the end of the season.

Telegraph journalist John Percy, who wrote the article, also took to X to claim that the Brazil international is now the number one target for Wolves and that talks are progressing.

Wolves have been linked with a number of forwards over the past few weeks, including the likes of Danny Ings, Hugo Ekitike and Armando Broja.

O’Neil recently admitted, as per the Shropshire Star, that Wolves are having to be cautious in the market due to FFP restrictions.

Wolves target ‘complete forward’ Yuri Alberto
Alberto seems like a good shout to bolster the Molineux attacking ranks, as he’s a very highly rated talent with his whole career ahead of him.

Last season, he registered 15 goals and nine assists from 63 outings in all competitions for his club, as per Transfermarkt.

Alberto joined Corinthians last year on a permanent deal after initially impressing on loan from Zenit St Petersburg.

Last year, the reported Wolves target also made his debut for the Selecao in a friendly against Morocco.

Alberto is fast, an excellent dribbler, very composed in front of goal, and can play across the whole front line.

In 2020, Jacek Kulig of Football Talent Scout likened Alberto to Robert Lewandowski and deemed him a ‘complete forward’.

All in all, this looks like a promising lead for Wolves fans. Let’s see how talks progress in the coming day or so, maybe even in the coming hours.
