Following the announcement that Toti Gomes had penned a new deal at Molineux last week, King has now agreed fresh terms at Wolves.

He has signed a new three-and-a-half-year deal, keeping him at Molineux until the summer of 2027.

King has yet to actually make his competitive debut for the Wolves first-team, but Matt Hobbs has been speaking about creating a culture at the club, and admitted that this contract for King is one of the ‘happiest’ he has given out.

King has loved his time at Molineux so far, and gave one answer that just shows he was a complete no-brainer of a signing…

King gave an interview with the club after signing his new contract, and it was a chance for him to talk about his first six months, and how much he’s enjoyed it.

King came in as a free agent last summer after leaving Northampton Town, and was the club’s first addition of the summer.

MORE WOLVES STORIES
He has huge experience in the Football League, and Wolves clearly felt he could make a great number three.

Asked if he felt he’s developed a lot at the club, he gave an answer that Wolves fans will love. He said (via Wolves Express): “For me, in the last six months it’s the most improvement I’ve done in my career. Even me now, just about to turn 29, I’m still learning every day and kicking on. This has definitely been the biggest development and improvement phase of my career.

“I try and get as much out of every day as I possibly can. I try and do that in my own special way as some of the lads will tell you. I try and get a good laugh and keep the spirits high but also when it’s time to work, I feel like I’m one of the top workers which obviously the club have seen and noticed and feel that’s what really embodies the spirit of playing for Wolves and being a part of Wolves football club

“My game time might be limited, but there’s so many other ways I can add value to the team and the squad in general.”

King’s perfect answer shows exactly why Wolves moved for him
These remarks from King are fantastic, and showed exactly why Wolves called him last summer.

The role of a number three goalkeeper is probably somewhat difficult, because you ar hardly ever going to play first-team football.

But rather than be frustrated with that, King clearly embraces it and is looking to add value in other ways which is superb.

He hasn’t played a single minute for Wolves and yet, he has proven why he was an absolute no-brainer to bring to the football club.

As Hobbs says, it’s all about building a positive culture and a togetherness. The sporting director saying he ‘couldn’t be happier’ to hand King a new deal just shows how highly he is valued.
