The teenager will join Steven Smith’s Under-18s squad ahead of the second half of the campaign, with a very exciting six months to come.

The move to Ibrox is a brilliant chance for Allen to progress in his footballing career, with a clear path to the first team ahead of him.

Ross McCausland is the prime example of this, having broken into the first team and keeping his place in the starting XI under Philippe Clement.

If you are good enough, you are old enough – a saying that the Belgian seems to believe when it comes to his Rangers squad. And the dynamic forward could just be a couple of years away from playing in front of the Ibrox faithful.

Capable of deputising anywhere across the front line, Allen will be an extremely useful asset once he finds his feet in Scotland, and may even impress Clement within weeks of being at the club.

The Gers have been calling out for new strikers, and if the Toffees youngster is able to develop well enough in Rangers’ academy, it could only be a matter of time before he is playing alongside McCausland, Rabbi Matondo, or even Cyriel Dessers.
