Chelsea are exploring the possibility of signing Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain this summer – that’s according to reports in France.

The Blues have long been linked with a move for the France star, as one of the only clubs in England who could legitimately afford to sign the 24-year-old.

Signing Mbappe had seemed to be pie in the sky for Premier League clubs, but now there is a bigger chance than ever of capturing his signature. That is because he has been put up for sale by PSG.

Chelsea could have signed Mbappe when he was just 12 years old, following a trial at the club, but they did not take up the option. Mbappe said: “I played up front, but I don’t think I scored. It was great – it was my first experience abroad and a chance for me to see what the game was like in England.”

Former  Chel sea s  cout Daniel Boga explained why it did not work out. He said: “When [Mbappe] has the ball… amazing. He pushes the ball and you can’t see him anymore. You could see that he had something special. When he went to his trial, I don’t think he saw that he had the opportunity to give everything to sign for Chelsea.”

They now have the chance to rectify that mistake with Mbappe put up for sale by PSG. Mbappe has just one year left on his contract at Paris Saint-Germain and has no intention of signing a new deal.
