The Seattle Seahawks may have a surplus to requirements in the wide receiver position. DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett are expected to be the team’s two primary options out wide, which means that some players on the depth chart might struggle to find meaningful minutes this coming season.

This could be the case for incoming fourth-year wideout Dee Eskridge, who could just find himself on the outside looking in as the new season approaches.

Seattle Seahawks Urged to Trade Dee Eskridge

Recently, Bleacher Report’s Matt Holder assembled an extensive list of important issues that every team needs to resolve before the start of the next campaign. The NFL analyst believes that Seattle should prioritize taking advantage of Eskridge while they still have the opportunity.

“Eskridge was the talk of the Senior Bowl three years ago after putting on a great showing that earned the Seahawks a second-round pick for him. But he’s had trouble staying healthy and hasn’t had a lot of playing time in the Emerald City.

With DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba in front of the Western Michigan product, the latter is probably not going to alter. Given that the wide receiver is about to approach a contract year, Seattle need to try to acquire him and provide him the chance to play a larger role elsewhere, Holder wrote.

Eskridge isn’t going to net the Seahawks a massive haul, but they could get one or two useful assets in exchange for the former second-round pick. For his part, a fresh start elsewhere could be what Eskridge needs to revitalize his career — one that could be destined for mediocrity if he remains in Seattle.
